RM85 Tofu Steak, anyone?
This was the only dinner option I had while I was working on location at an isolated 5-star beach resort in Langkawi. One out of two restaurants there was open; it was Japanese and everything else on the menu - even cheaper meals! - had fish.
The tofu was a simple soft tofu, with a smooth velvety texture. Surprisingly though, the star of this dish was the BROCCOLI. Soaked up those sauces like a sponge and every small bite was an explosion of flavour.
Thankfully, my meal expenses were covered by the event organizers. Would I pay this much for something similar on my own? Unlikely! I’m not a lady of luxury and would choose street food over fine dining any day. But it was interesting to experience an exquisite setting, attentive customer service, and bomb diggity broccoli.
