Ninety nine percent of the time, whenever I share constructive feedback to restaurant staff in Malaysia about how to make their menu more vegan-friendly, it’s taken with a polite smile and a nod, “We’ll let the management know”, amounting to nothing.
The restaurant that made it amount to something - that other one percent! - was Agrain by HALE. At the launch of their latest branch, SSAYANG and I learned that some of the items on the menu that seemed vegan actually weren't, and we only found out through asking. We gave feedback. I didn't think much of it. But they sure did.
Just a couple of months later, the marketing rep shared with me the re-vamped menu. They created an easy-to-read labelling system for the vegan-friendly items, re-worked a recipe to make it vegan, and added even more vegan options.
So when I was asked to become an Agrain ambassador, it was a no-brainer. For I not only wish to represent a brand that makes ridiculously good food. I also wish to represent how a lifestyle movement and the F&B industry can evolve together. It can happen, and with no feathers ruffled.
Here's my customizeable order that I pretty much inhaled for lunch today. I was in a rare mood of not wanting Teriyaki Tempeh nor Miso Tofu, so I substituted each protein with two supplements.
Build your own bowl at Agrain and experience for yourself how healthy can still be easy, tasty and fun!
