Despite the bad rep that soy has, I honestly think the negativity is overrated.
🥛Soy is a goitrogen, but as long as you have healthy thyroid function and also keep trace amounts of iodine in your diet, you’re most probably safe to take soy in moderation like everything else.
🥛Soy contains phytoestrogens, which mimics but also blocks certain efffects of actual estrogen. It is 1000 times weaker than estrogen, so as long as your not guzzling soymilk by the gallon (which gave rise to the one and ONLY reported case of ‘man boobs’ I could find), chances are low that it will affect your hormones. The REAL cause of concern for dietary estrogen actually comes from meat and dairy, which has been unnaturally pumped with hormones.
