ou know you’re getting enough colours in your diet when even your non-Instagram food ends up deserving a picture! One of the meals I have begun to enjoy assembling at home are poke bowls. I even bought Chuka Wakame (seasoned sesame seaweed salad) and Inari (sweet tofu pockets) in bulk so that I can get some authentic Japanese flavours in. They take up a lot of space in my freezer but it’s well worth the dozens of meals that will come out from them, and it’s so much more affordable to make these bowls yourself. A friend of mine also bought a jar of premium truffle oil and savoured the best pasta she’s ever made, which was still a fraction of the price she would have paid for something similar at a fine dining establishment. I know it’s not the best time to splurge on ALL your ingredients, but if you can afford to treat yourself with one or two items, you’ve come this far, you completely deserve it, and chances are high you’re still saving!
