Celebrated the news of you-know-who’s conviction on Tuesday with a Burger Ulam Kampung at Hijau KL. I would never have thought of adding grilled eggplant to a burger, but this strange combination actually worked really well, and the flavour of the sambal added cohesion as well as contrast to the whole dish, although I would have liked the sambal to be spicier. I plan to come back to try the Nasi Padang next. 5 stars for flavour and nutritional value, 3 stars for price, which is rather on the high side, even with the KindMeal discount voucher.

Have been wanting to check out Hijau ever since they opened at Rex KL but driving down to that part of KL is a bit scary for me as I find traffic there a bit chaotic.

So I’m really grateful that we got to go in one car with Diyana instead 🙏

Best part about Hijau is that it’s 100% vegan!!

Steamed rice served with various choices of dishes. Ikan Balado, Dendeng, Sambal ljo and Rendang. There's a variety of lauk pauk in one plate

It's not your regular Nasi Lemak. It's a breakfast dish originating in Malay cuisine,
served with sambal and Vege fish.

🌱VEGAN FOOD ADVENTURES WITH Raw Chef Yin - Hijau 🌱

Elliz of The Kampung Vegan was in town and suggested we meet at Hijau since she hasn’t tried the food there yet.

We said yes as we were keen on trying out the new menu at Hijau.
