I could say this is almost perfect! It reminds me of the taste of bak kut teh's origin, Klang! Some people prefers soy sauce based soup with slight herbal aroma, while I would only go for Klang's authentic bak kut teh with thick gravvy and strong herbal aroma. No bak kut teh in KL beats that, but I'm grateful to have found this! And best of all, the taste of Klang's BKT is replicable in meatless version! Even my mom who is born, stayed, and grew up in Klang have to thumb up for this. You'll be surprised to realize that BKT can be super awesome with all variety of mushrooms and tofu puff!
Lucky you. last trip i went there they say not a lot customers order this dish so sometimes they dont have it.. i wanted to order this at first but instead i order the nasi lemak set instead. Maybe they can do specific date every week
But as I tapao for my sis, it turned out that they gave veeeery few mushrooms. A big turn down!! T.T I think if u dine in u get more ingredients due to the large hot pot provided
I wanted to try this yesterday... But I have no luck too, because the boss said in order to maintain the BKT quality, they won't cook if they can't get the ingredients they want. So it's better to call first to make sure they have it if you don't want to be disappointed.
