We had a meeting at Bangsar South so decided to pop by Good Meals first for lunch.
We had the 1️⃣Crispy Noodles Vegan yee mee noodles, mushrooms and leafy vegetables doused with gravy made with kudzu powder and soy sauce. Topped with fried burdock and carrot strips.
2️⃣Salty Yam Rice Steamed pandan rice with assorted vegetables and black fungus. Mixed with a homemade blend of organic sweet dark soy sauce and sesame oil. Topped with pine nuts.
And then Siew Yen invited us to also try the following: 3️⃣Roots Vegetable Soup with Cashew Beetroot, turnips, carrots, sweet corn and cashew nuts, slow-boiled with kombu sticks.
4️⃣Steamed Chayote Dumplings Chayote, carrots and shiitake wrapped in a handmade skin made from glutinous rice and tapioca flour
5️⃣Asparagus & Celery Bean Curd Skin Parcels Fresh asparagus, celery, turnip and capsicum wrapped in beancurd skin, deep-fried and served with homemade sweet chilli sauce
Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the yam rice, dumplings and the soup. I normally don't eat deep fried dishes but the asparagus parcels were actually quite good with no oily aftertaste as they use good quality coconut oil.
Also really nice to be able to meet the young chef there.
Definitely pay them a visit to have interesting vegan Chinese food that has a modern twist.
