#RawChefYin visits Damai Studio & Cafe in Ampang!
So nice catching up with Graziella whom I met in Bali last year where she was one of the volunteers that assisted me during my raw vegan mooncake demo.
She was here in KL so I was determined to find some time to pop by despite my crazy busy schedule this month. I'm glad we did.
It's a beautiful bungalow within the Jalan Damai area, surrounded by these lovely trees (there's a huge angsana tree at the entrance) where they host transformative activities including ecstatic dance, sound bath, qigong, yoga, meditation and more.
The cafe serves vegetarian, vegan and raw vegan food. Bee from Damai told me that more than 80% of the menu is vegan and gluten-free, and the dishes are made from scratch.👍
We had the following for lunch:
1. Herbal Potion RM11.90 It's a Moringa Soup with moringa leaves, sweet potatoes and coconut cream. No added sweeteners, the sweetness comes from the sweet potato :)
2. Damai Bowl RM23.90 Purple cabbage, carrot, sweet potato, alfalfa sprouts, edamame, avocado served with brown rice and sesame dressing
This one was my favourite because it had raw elements such as the cabbage, carrots, avocado and sprouts plus it was a nice generous portion.
3. Botanical Garden RM19.90 Green Curry with Tempeh, broccoli, carrot, eggplant, long bean served with brown rice
We enjoyed our lunch there and it was lovely meeting Bee from Damai Studio & Cafe. Note when I went there it was still an introductory menu so this might change... also I provided feedback that it would be really useful if they indicated which items were vegan so we don't need to guess and Bee said they've done that. YAY, well done!
