I decided to have lunch here after our flight as I wanted something comfortable and relaxing and pretty.
Also, I spotted the Claypot dish which I really really love, so that sealed the deal.
We had:
✅Steamed Rice Cakes Banh Bèo - Bánh Dúc 85 Coconut-rice batter steamed & garnished with peanuts & fried onions, served w/our House sauce.
✅A Hoi An Specialty Cao Läu 85 A variety of mushrooms & tofu simmered in vegetable broth with noodles & served with a selection of fresh herbs.
✅Claypot Rice Com Niêu 20
✅Claypot Eggplant Cà TÃm Tay Câm 95 Sautéed eggplant & straw mushrooms simmered in coconut juice.
Vegan options are clearly marked!
Gorgeous setting, this was a perfect first meal in Hoi An. The steamed rice cakes reminded me of Woon Chai Koh, which I haven’t eaten in ages. I keep reading and hearing about the Cao Lau so that was something we really wanted to try over here in Hoi An. Apparently you can only get it here as they use the water from a well to make the noodles. The claypot eggplant did not disappoint - super happy to be able to eat it!
I think the only thing that made me a bit uncomfortable was the server who asked me questions non stop after I praised the food and some of the questions were really intrusive. Eeeks, I just wanna eat and smile… not chit chat after a flight and no shower 😅
