🇸🇬🌱VEGAN FOOD ADVENTURES IN SINGAPORE - RESTAURANT JAG 🇸🇬🌱
(French Contemporary)

We did a Google search on vegan fine dining in Singapore and found Restaurant Jag, a one Michelin-starred restaurant.

This is what the Michelin Guide described the restaurant:

Since 2023, Jag has been housed in this pristine white-walled space with sage green furnishings, brushed brass trims and mid-century rattan chairs. Chef Jeremy Gillon's cooking remains vegetable-forward: French produce picked at peak ripeness – and supplemented by meats and seafood – is key to his ethos. Dishes are light in flavours but strong in creative flair. The cheese trolley impresses with its sheer variety. Round off your meal with a digestif.
And on the restaurant website, it stated:

The menus at JAG can be customised to suit the following dietary inclinations:
Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, No Nuts, Pescatarian, No Shellfish, No Crustaceans, No Seafood, No Red Meats, No Pork

I watched some YouTube videos about Jag and it seemed like it would be worth trying so we went for their lunch menu.
This was the lunch menu for the day

Promenade du Végétal - $175++
💚leek, carraway
💚red cabbage, parsley
💚homemade bread and butter (for the vegan menu it was olive & oil and balsamic vinegar, no butter. Would have been nice if they made their own vegan butter!)
💚carrot, star anise, roasted linseed
💚capucine, verveine, quinoa
💚celeriac, lovage, chinese celery
💚longan, dark chocolate
💚crosne, mustard green, black garlic
💚chef's selection of cheese - sadly there was no vegan cheese and no replacement course for the vegan menu
💚apple, sorrel
💚bassam chocolate, beetroot
💚mignardises

The birthday cake was a really nice touch too!
I loved how plant-forward the menu was. It was so interesting to see how the vegetables were presented. I liked how I was su

Great getting to meet Chef Jeremy as well and I told him I was fascinated how he paired the polenta with the mustard greens. I did express my slight disappointment at how there’s no vegan cheeses and asked if he could check out the vegan cheese cultures that are now available. I hope he does consider that!

They gave us a gift card to use if we wanted to come back for the Spring experience and also a perfume sample.

If I’m back in Singapore, I’d definitely want to go for that. (Need to work hard now till then, haha)
