Join the screening, Q&A and panel discussion on the ground-breaking Nonhuman Rights movement with Steven M. Wise, founder and President of the New York-based Nonhuman Rights Project.
'UNLOCKING THE CAGE' is a documentary following the Nonhuman Rights Project's unprecedented legal challenges to gain certain personhood rights for nonhuman animals. Afterwards there will be a Q&A and panel discussion with Steven and several other local lawyers and activists. A 20-minute clip from the 90-minute documentary will be shown.

Steven M. Wise is an American legal scholar who specializes in animal protection issues, primatology, and animal intelligence. He is the founder and president of the Nonhuman Rights Project, which seeks to secure the recognition and protection of fundamental rights for nonhuman animals such as great apes, elephants, dolphins and whales.
