Did you know that male chicks are killed upon birth in the egg industry? Male chickens born in the egg industry are seen as waste since they can't produce eggs and they don't grow large enough to be profitable for meat. It is called "culling" and it occurs in all industrialized egg production whether free range, organic, or battery cage. And their death is horrific - the most common method of killing them is being thrown into a large metal grinder.
