These words are all synonyms, but one is being misused by big ag: humane.
Cutting off body parts without any painkillers or anesthesia is not humane. Separating mothers from their babies is not humane. Confining animals in dark, filthy sheds packed with thousands of other animals is not humane. Killing an innocent being, no matter how it's done, is not humane.
Don't be fooled by their use of words to make you feel better about using animals for food.
