In the animal agriculture system pigs have had their bodies systematically altered and modified to be able to get as much meat out of each pig as possible. Pigs, naturally foraging omnivores, are not provided a diverse diet in the animal agriculture system. They are treated as commodities and their diets are focused on converting the least amount of grain into the highest amount of lean muscle in the shortest possible time.
