Our 2017 investigation of of several Virginia chicken facilities that supply Tyson documented a shocking, never-before-seen look behind the closed doors of chicken “broiler breeder” farms. Despite Tyson’s public “commitment to animal well-being,” our video tells a hauntingly different story and prompted the company to immediately end the cruel practice of “boning”. This marks the first time a standard industry practice was the basis of an animal cruelty conviction. Our work following this investigation led to 17 of the top 20 U.S. poultry companies immediately ending "boning" if they were using it.
