Meet Luke And Romeo, From Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary. They Were Born On Different..
by Compassion Over Killing, 30 March 2022
Meet LukešŸ‚ and RomeošŸ„, from Safe Haven Farm Sanctuary. They were born on different dairy farms in the late summer of 2021. One of the cruel realities of the dairy industry is that male calves serve no economic purpose to dairy farmers. Luke (brown calf) and Romeo (black and white calf) were torn from their mothers moments after birth and destined for slaughter. Romeo was born 4 weeks premature and was too small to nurse and too weak to stand. He was tube fed and received medical care from a compassionate person intent on saving as many bull calves as possible. Fortunately, Luke and Romeo both found a safe home at Safe Haven.

These precious calves have already formed a deep bond, and it is a joy watching their friendship flourish. They can often be seen tenderly licking each other's faces which is an expression of affection. They are now happy and healthy and enjoy spending their days exploring and playing together. In the evening, they cuddle together and sleep peacefully knowing they are by each otherā€™s side. Luke is incredibly friendly and playful and is always intrigued by what his human friends are doing. Romeo is very gentle and loves petting. The adorable heart shape on his forehead makes us melt every time we see him.

Luke and Romeo are animal ambassador for this years VegWeek, which runs from April 18th to the 24th. Sign up to participate: www.vegweek.com
