Earlier this year we followed a truck for more than 1,200 miles that was transporting pigs. For more than 30 hours these pigs were given no chance to eat, drink or rest, all while they were crammed together in the trailer in temperatures as high as 91 degrees. This investigation is featured in a new article from The Guardian which analyzes the toll of heat stress, cold and trauma that animals face while being transported to slaughter.
