Every year, the US sends 30,000 horses to Canada & Mexico to be slaughtered for their meat. 🚛🐴 These animals are transported hundreds of miles–crammed into a truck where they travel for more than 24 hours without food or water. At the slaughterhouse, they are often killed while conscious, as documented by Animal Equality investigations in Italy, Spain and Mexico.

There is currently no permanent ban on the exportation or slaughter of American horses. It’s time the US Government puts an end to their killing for human consumption❗️
