What happens when the meat industry is left to regulate itself❓🤔

Animal Equality recently investigated illegal slaughterhouses in Brazil to show how these facilities operate in secret. 📹 Unfortunately, this is only a glimpse into the future of Brazil's meat industry under the Self-Control Bill, which allows the very industry that causes so much suffering to regulate itself.

🔴 Brazil is not the only country where animals are suffering even greater because of a lack of oversight. In the US, a 2020 change in USDA regulations reduced government regulation of slaughterhouses and animals faced increased mistreatment. While animal abuse is an industry standard even with oversight, a lack of regulation only means more extreme cruelty.
