Earlier this week, Animal Partisan filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission over a video advertisement that compares the treatment of pigs kept at animal agriculture facilities to guests at a luxury hotel. The complaint was filed against the National Pork Board and entertainer Luke Bryan who originally appeared in and promoted the video. Relying in part on evidence from Animal Outlook's undercover investigation into Holden Farms in Utica, MN, the complaint argues that pigs used for pork are regularly subjected to strict confinement, bodily mutilations, deprivation of veterinary care, and eventual slaughter, none of which a reasonable consumer would associate with a luxury hotel. Animal Partisan is asking the Federal Trade Commission to intervene and stop the dissemination of the video.
