Rescued Parrot Loves New Life
Rescued Parrot Loves New Life
Aiyoh! He has to share toys with the kitten and food with the piglet. What the...?? Pepe wants a cracker of his very own!
Really, Pepe the rescued parrot, has nothing to complain about. He's now enjoying good care (and excellent company) at Santuario Igualdad Interspecies, a multi-species animal sanctuary in Santiago, Chile. The good folks there found Pepe wandering on the city streets, very disoriented. Now he needs only to find his way amongst his fellow rescues animals, and he seems to be doing that just fine.
The kind people at this sanctuary don't discriminate. Cat, pig, parrot -- if an animal needs help, and they can provide it, they do. Why do so many of us treat animals so differently? We might rescue a parrot but eat a chicken. We adore a kitten but eat a lamb. Think about it. Does that make sense? Where is it written that one species is to be a loved pet and another food?
