Tong sui! Yes again! I experimented this one day as I was given a hamper of boxed Laichi drinks.
The ingredients: 1) 1 Laichi drink (canned or box) store it in the fridge. Pour it out to the pot after you're done cutting the cucumber.
2) 1-2 Cucumbers
No need any sugar as the water from Laichi is sweet.
The trick is de-skin the cucumber. Cut the cucumber like you are shaving the pencil with a blade to a pot. The strips itself became perfect jelly like texture after about 20mins in the laichi drink. It's almost like eating nata de'coco!
I tried cutting it in cube or any other "shapes" it just doesn't taste as great as the "shaving" style.
This one's easy as well. I recommended it to my Muslims friends during fasting season & it became their favourite, cheap & fast DIY.
